There are a number of ways interested individuals, businesses, and organizations can support the Power Shift Michigan 2009 Conference - five sponsorship levels, scholarship funding opportunities, partnerships, exhibitor space availability, and fair trade and local market space availability are all possible ways to give to the conference.

Below is more information on each of the ways to support the conference.

Scholarship Funding

$20 will fund one future leader to attend the conference

*Scholarships may be given by either donating directly to the conference planning committee for their distribution to students in need or by the donor offering sponsorships at their own discretion and by their own means.

Partnerships

Recognizing the importance of the work of non – profit organizations and student groups, we are determined to be as inclusive as possible in the planning of this historic conference.

As a partner, your organization is showing their official endorsement of the conference and its goals. Partners agree to promote the conference to their constituency and relate why the conference is important to your organization.

Partners will be recognized officially as a leading organizer of the conference in all publications and promotional materials for the conference.

While there is not necessarily a monetary fee to become a partner, partners will be expected to contribute to the planning of the conference by actively participating in working groups, fundraising, recruitment and outreach, staffing, and volunteering.

Exhibitors

Throughout the conference, space has been arranged at the entrance of the main conference hall for interested participants to exhibit their services, ideas, and products to conference attendees.

Purchasing exhibitor space through the conference is a sure way to reach a young, activist audience of over 1,000 individuals.

Exhibitors are encouraged to provide information on their organization, free hand outs and raffles, and advertise.

Exhibitor Fees

Basic Exhibitor Space

$35 / Day or $100 / Whole Conference

Includes: 8 foot table, two chairs, advertisement in event program

Enhanced Exhibitor Space

$45 / Day or $125 / whole conference

Includes: skirted display table with linen, two chairs, advertisement in event program

*Electrical capabilities available. This will cost an additional $55 on top of fee and is good for entirety of conference.

*Other amenities available and may be discussed on an individual basis and arranged with planning committee and the Lansing Center. These fees will be added on top of general exhibitor space fee.

Fair Trade and Local Market

Local, regional, and state businesses, artists, food growers, and food providers are invited to sell their products to conference attendees at a Fair Trade and Local Market that will be taking place directly across the street from the Lansing Center.

$45 / Day or $125 / whole conference

*Specific needs such as tables, chairs, electricity, and other miscellaneous needs must be worked out with the planning committee in advance.

Other Ways to Help

$450 will fund one advertisement in a college newspaper

$250 will fund round trip transportation for a bus load of future leaders to attend the conference

$100 will fund the printing of 10 conference tee shirts
